Meet the Grunt pig family!
I have finally got around to making my mother pig a dress (I got my pigs second hand, and the mum was dressed in some overalls that she didn't like much), and also writing their bios!
In Macadamia Grove, the Grunt family are farmers, and work very hard to ensure the village is supplied with delicious fruits and vegetables, as well as our signature crop: macadamia nuts!
You can read more about the Grunt family on my Meet The Families page. They are very pleased to meet you!
Hi GreyRabbit!
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely to meet the Grunts! They seem like very, decent, genuine country folks!
Poor HenWen-I'm not suprised she gets a little tired of her brothers! She seems very sweet, and I've always adored her little dress!
I love the clever alteration of 'Shakespeare'. I'm sure Hugh certianly has what it takes to become an actor! Good luck to him in pursuing this dream!
Have a great rest of the week!
Hi GreyRabbit!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on having the Grunts! I love them and I know they're not so easy to get these days. I hope to be able to add them to my collection at some point.
Yours sound like a very happy family! The dress you made for Constance looks lovely and perfect for her. I hope Hugh gets support from his family to pursue his dreams. I just adore those triplets, HenWen is so cute!
The macadamia nuts they grow must be so delicious! :D
Have a great weekend!
Hi Kelsie, and Ayrell!
ReplyDeleteThank you both for your lovely comments! The Grunts are very cute; I feel very lucky to have them.
Don't worry Ayrell - Hugh's family are always there in the front row to watch any play he is in. Richard doesn't understand at all why Hugh would prefer acting to farming, but he is philosophical about it, and is very proud that his son is doing well in a hobby he loves.
Hi GreyRabbit!
ReplyDeleteI very much enjoyed reading about your lovely new Grunt Pig family. I love the new dress you made for Constance, it's very beautiful and it really suits her. Good job!
I was laughing at Henrietta Wendy's nickname, HenWen, I suppose the inspiration came from the little pig Hen Wen in the movie The Black Cauldron, by Disney? Hehe... great names and bios. I really liked reading about the different passions of Hugh and Olivia. I hope Hugh gets to follow his dreams of becoming a playwright. I agree, writing and directing plays could be a very fun job (of course, a lot of work, but still very interesting and cool to learn about!) I know that soon your Grunt Family will receive a very warm welcome in Macadamia Grove. Congratulations on getting them!
Hugs and kisses, Emilie and the Maples
:) Have a great day!
Hi Emilie
DeleteYou're almost right about HenWen - actually I can't stand that movie, it was so badly made I've never even finished it (it's one of the very few Disney movies I don't like!) However, the original series of books by Lloyd Alexander are wonderful - the first in the series is called The Book of Three, with The Black Cauldron being the second. I highly recommend these books to you Emilie - they are perfect for someone your age! (Obviously check with your parents first if they would rather you not just take recommendations from people online!) Well done you for recognising the name, though - I wasn't sure how many people would catch that one.
In fact, all three triplets have literary names - HenWen's is probably the most obscure, so I'm sure you probably caught the other references as well! :)
Hi GreyRabbit!
ReplyDeleteThe Grunts are a lovely addition to your collection. I also have this family and the triplets are extremelly cute. Well, actually, all sylvanian triplets are very cute indeed.
The dress you made for Costance suits her perfectly and it matches the color of the rest of her family members´outfits.
I enjoyed reading the bio you wrote for them and I a had a laugh when I read about Hugh Grunt. Hope he becomes a famous actor.Haha, Willian Sheepsheare! That was so funny!
Looking forward to seeing this family featured in your future stories.
Have a wonderful day!
Thanks Cutata! It was quite funny about Constance's dress actually - I didn't even consider "matching" her with the rest of the family; I just thought she would like a gingham dress, this colour was what I had, and I decided it would suit her nicely. Believe it or not, it wasn't until I had these photos on the computer that I realised her dress matched her son's overalls!! So it's really just a happy coincidence!
